Fuel Tank Capacity Question

Post by Steverinomeiste »

I am doing this kind of backwards. I should of pre mixed my additive in the gas can, but I've got a full tank and I can't find a spec on tank capacity to figure the amounts to add. The Honda dealer gave me some octane booster and something to lubricate the valves on these pre unleaded gas era motorcycles. The key word here is Gave. They like to see the old Hondas being cared about.

According to the manual, 9.1 liters or 2.4 gallons.

There's been quite a bit of study regarding the effect of unleaded fuel on these old motorcycle exhaust valve seats. It's like the engine oil debates, where you'll get people arguing passionately on both sides of the issue, but you won't have any issues running unleaded fuel with these little engines.

Let us know how the ride went. I'll be taking my Benly to a bike show Sunday (only to ride there, not to enter).

OK well I'll post one of my own-
My new 1972 Cb350 in Baccus Olive out of OH $800. Runs needs carb work as usual and clear title. For me a title is worth about $200-250 in bike value, so again I'm real happy.
The Candy Blue Survivor Bike is getting new skins, wheel bearings and fork rebuild. I'm also working to preserve the original seat cover, as well as rebuild the seat. Somebody must have jumped the bike once cause the seat pan was broken and bowed in the middle (since welded up).

Nice buy. Those 350s were always my favorites - just such a perfect size.
