My new project.

Just bought off ebay. Low money. Taking uship bids to get it south.

Looks like a great project bike. Late-edition CA95, perhaps originally red? Interesting set of bags on her.

It's amazing how many of these old Benlys survive. It'll be interesting to watch this project and see what discoveries and surprises lie ahead.

Thanks guys. I was not planning to do another CA95 anytime soon, but I could not pass this one up. It looks like it has a full chain guard, vintage crash bars, original mufflers and diffusers. The seat has no rips but i'm sure the stuffing is petrified. I really think it was white but it has lots of surface rust. I will attempt to wake her up before teardown. Currently I'm just finishing painting a real sweet CA160 (1966) Corvette white. I would put on more pics in my albums but have run out of space. I will not have an update for 10 days or so until I get this bike in the shop from Indiana.

Can't wait-will you keep the color or go custom again? Funny, I have Superhawk coming from Indiana this week (or soon) as well.

I'm not sure of the color yet. I've painted these bikes white, black and candy red. I am always torn between standard more or less stock colors and wild off the wall. I have to wait & see the bike first hand.

It may be a while getting the bike as the person I bought it from is taking holiday here in the south. He wants to deliver it in September for less than transportation costs. No rush. I still have to complete the CA160.

I just drove through Lexington on my way to visit my youngest, who is in med school in Tennessee. Looking forward to following another one of your projects.

Thanks. In this case, it's HER career. Yesterday I got to tour the anatomy lab where she dissects bodies, and see the morgue.

I need to erase some of my pics in my albums to make room for new pics of my new project.

I brought the bike home today. This little bike left northern Indiana Saturday morning and arrived via my rented pick up truck this evening in Sylvania Georgia. I have to share some interesting observations.

The bike is really rusty....

It is almost 100% original.

It is a 1964

It still has the exhaust baffles in the mufflers, the mufflers are dent free..but really rusty with flaking chrome.

It has the period correct crashbars. For some reason, they are straight and polish up very nicely.

The bike has the most unusual saddlebags and hangers. I don't plan to use them, but unusual for sure.

Finally the front wheel is electrified....say what??? The front spokes have small light sockets mounted on them. They are connected to a rotating contact on the hub and wired to a toggle switch under the handlebars.

The seat has no rips, it's old for sure, the chrome trim is rusty, but the seat cover in intact.

The bike has two thin whitewall rear wheels (front & back)

The handlebars are rusty but straight and the clutch and front brake controls are clean. The cables are old but good. I plan to keep them for reference.

It has Buco brand mirrors mirrors....rusty as well.

Again, I will post pics and progress. Oh..it still has its 1983 license plate..

Well, now we have to seem them installed on the final product!
