Thought I would share a few highlights of my build. Wont be near as nice as most on this board but here goes. This picture is as it was when brought home last week. The guy I got it from said he had bought it a couple years ago in pieces and had done nothing to it but bought parts.

I just took it apart and started prepping parts for paint. Had to do a little metal work on rear fender where place for tail light was stress cracked.

I have a nice wiring harness on ebay that will fit on your (and any 1966-1969) Honda CA160.

Took advantage of the long weekend and got some paint sprayed. I just chose a medium white in a single stage acrylic urethane. I'm happy with how it came out except for the front fender. It had a spot where the paint lifted a little so I'll start over on it. I'll just show the good stuff. The pattern of spots on the tank are a reflection of lights in my shop. I have two rows of track lights with 8 floods in each to get plenty of light where I need it. Not sure why the picture of the tank looks like a darker color than the actual color as shown in the other pics.

Will give the paint a few days to cure and then will start the assembly. Still have a lot of parts to clean up and polish but have a good start on it.

Thanks for letting me know. I need to look mine over to see if it is OK. The wiring that goes through the handle bars is all I have found so far that concerns me. "So far" being the key words.

White is my favorite color on the classic CA's and Dreams. Feels good to finally get some paint down on your frame and parts right? I can't stand all the prep work. I like to work as quickly as possible to get the whole paint prep process over with. Lookin good.

Still deciding if I like this look on the shocks. If I had the correct covers, I would use them. But I have to pick and choose what I spend my limited resources on.

Fuel tank came out decent. Chrome has some deep scratches and is thin in places so I'm afraid to polish any more. Could not find correct screws for the emblems so bought standard thread stainless screws from Tractor Supply and tapped to matching threads.

I don't think this is the correct gas cap but 2 of them just alike came with it. It seems to sit too low and is difficult to grasp for removal. It also is lightly touching the paint on the perimeter.

Bamabob ,looks like your going to have a great bike when your finished and something to be proud of .
Tha gas caps are correct for your bike .They are a poor design and as you say their tough to grab and turn .
