Derbi 50cc Replica Race Motorcycle

Here is one of the more interesting works of art acquired by a friend of mine. This is a little Derbi race motorcycle that actually is licensed for the street here in the states. I've never seen one before as it's just a European training bike for young racers. This bike was previously owned by a dealership owner in Texas.

Here is a bike that was brought home strictly as a parts bike. It would be nice to fix it up as well but parts are SO hard to get for these things that it's just not realistic considering the bikes market value... which is not so high.

I guess Derbi was bought out by Piaggio but their racing team and racing efforts are still supported. Their retail motorcycle division has all but died though as far as I have heard. Not like anyone in the states has ever paid attention to the brand though.
