what to go for

i have 1983 Isuzu Trooper .. pretty much on its original specs only thing ever changed on it was the engine to a 1RZ bout 4 years back .. now im looking for a bigger engine .. what would u guyz suggest will b a better option .. the 1uz or 2jz ??

Hey there. I would say the 1UZ. They are cheaper and you will have more fun with it. It's going to cost you more to put the 2JZ and it won't get better fuel mileage. There are more people who can help you out with a 1UZ swap as well. I know a few people over at Lextreme.com have put 1UZ's into Troopers.

The 2JZ is also longer. It would be harder to put into your engine compartment.

roger .. also the jeep is being preped for a desert rally we have here every year .. so ermm i knw the 2jz can take alotta beating .. is it the same for the 1uz ? .. saw your Hilux build thread awsome stuff .. hows that running ??
