Spark plugs

Post by rum-rum »

I just picked up 4 c10 h spark plugs.my manual read that these would fit my Honda benly.i guess my manual was wrong.the thread size is smaller, just goes to show you some manuals are not all correct.the plugs are brand new and in their own alluminum case and am guessing quite collectable so I guess I'll just stick them on the shelf.which plugs are you using in your Honda ...

The UK C95 uses ngk D8HA.

NGK used a strange lettering system for the plug sizes

A is 18mm
B 14mm
C 10mm
D 12mm

Not sure how the worked that out.

The D8HA always come out a nice old fashioned mid brown colour. In a way that plugs don't on modern engines.

I ran into the same issue buying the c-10h's. They don't fit. My bike came with some D-9H's and that's what I bought to replace. I haven't started it yet but feel they are correct. PM me if you haven't bought any yet and I'll send you two of the D-9H's if you want. I have 8 left. That is 2 1/2 lifetime supply by my count. :D Assuming that is that a member who knows more tells us that is the wrong plug.

The Honda CA95 Parts Manual lists the following plug sizes and part numbers: (Wow, what a range!)

(D9H), p/n 98066-58710
(D8HS), p/n 98066-58714
(D8HA), p/n 98066-58717
(D9H), p/n 98066-58717-00
(D10HS), p/n 98066-60710
(D10HS), p/n 98066-60714

Like Nige, I am successfully running NGK D8HA's in my '64 CA95 with a '63 motor.
