Default Points advance mech.

Should I be able to turn the advance mech. by hand- maybe with the springs loose? Does the points cam turn on the base? I've carefully removed the circlips and small washers on the weights and can't remove the weights to disassemble and clean the joint. Also the points cam was rusted in places, I cleaned it and went over it with 600 grit sandpaper and 0000 steel wool. It's pitted in places, surely this won't effect operation. See pic.
At one time this machine sat in the rain before I got it. The speedo was full of water and when I drained the engine oil it was very thin and could see water floating in the pan.

Also- not part of this thread, where can one get the carb insulator? Have not seen on ebay. Mine is cracked and one end broken off from a PO and the person filled the valve guide drain ports with silicone. I've seen a few shortcuts from PO's that will make me check everything out.

Holy McMoley it looks as though it went through a fire. One bid was rejected did you see? I check ebay all the time, but missed this. A decent one will appear soon I'm sure. Thanks for the reply. By the by, your CA95 is extra nice!

After half an hour searching, it turned out to be a C92 one, only 18mm bore.
I will have another one, I'll look after lunch.
