Default How to remove thing points ride on?

The cylinder that the points ride on... I don't have a pic but I'm sure someone knows what I mean. The one on my bike is all pitted and the one on my parts bike is nice.

If you are reffering to the cam on the end of the crankshaft, remove the ignition plate that the points are fastened to, put the motor in gear and get someone to apply the rear brake. Use a 14mm ring spanner (wrench) and give it a hard hit anti clockwise to loosen. After removing the bolt, the auto addvance unit should just prise away from the rotor.

Aaron, the same idea aplies to the rotor if you are removing it to strip the motor. Do it while the motor is still in the frame. to extract the rotor, use a rear wheel spindle, it screws straight into the rotor. when it stops screwing in, put the motor in gear, apply the back brake and hit the cross bar through the hole in the spindle anti clockwise.

Sam.
