Hi Kevin,
I'm glad your pipes fit well. My right side pipe flange was over 1" off as compared to the original. As I previously mentioned, the originals are asymmetric and the ones I received were not. Perhaps different Thailand suppliers are using different tooling.

Exhaust System From Thailand

We all know there aren't many options for new exhaust systems and I wanted to share my recent experience in case some of you are trying to decide what to do. First off, the new system (head pipes and mufflers) needed to all be replaced because the old stuff wasn't saveable. If your parts are decent ...

Thanks for the feedback on the head pipes not being symmetric, that's the way it looked to me too.

New Exhaust Options for CA95

I've been trying to install a new exhaust system I purchased on eBay and it's been nothing but trouble. Question, are the head pipes symmetric left to right? The pipes I bought are symmetric but the ones on my bike are not.

I wish I'd asked advice here on options first but I guess that's the way ...

Thanks for the feedback. I set the adjustments where it idled good and everything seems fine. I put some miles on it this weekend and it ran great.

I agree with adjusting throttle slide needle setting but it's running very strong so I think I will leave things as they are.

Additionally, I had ...

Carb needle settings for CA95

I just rebuilt the fuel petcock and carb on my CA95. I was wondering where to start on the needle settings and where members have had the best success. The farthest forward Air Screw needle is almost all the way in (1/8 turn out) while the rear Throttle Stop is 6 turns out. This seems like a bigger ...

[ New problem though, the clutch is frozen in the engaged position. Any ideas of how to fix this would be appreciated.
Walt[/QUOTE]

I have encountered frozen clutches before and what I try first is warming up the bike in Neutral (so it will start easy), then restarting in 2nd gear with the clutch ...

Thank you. The previous set of tires were 12 years old and like new except for sidewall checking that I didn't trust. The new tires have a wider rib which makes them "squirm" less when changing lanes. I've been impressed with how maintenance free these little machines have been. I'm also impressed ...

Too bad the riding season is so short in Michigan. At least we got them back on the road instead of leaving them in storage like we did for the past 12 years. Where does the time go...

Added Photos in Profile Album

Sorry this took so long but I've finally got around to adding some photos of the CA-95 in an Album under my profile. We had a ball this fall riding them to the local cider mills and cruising the back roads of rural Michigan.

Happy Holidays!!!

Jim,

I'm also in Michigan (I work with your wife at GM). I've used 6-volt Battery Tenders for my pair of little Hondas (CA95 and C102 Cub) with no issues. I have noticed a slight loss of fluid in the batteries each Spring - maybe 5mm, but I just top them off with distilled water and all is well ...

I have a question for you TwinX- You say you "bag" your bikes, and if I'm correct I understand you are basically enclosing the entire bike in a protective plastic cocoon. It's a great idea for preservation and I really like the concept. If this IS the case, I'd rather see you pull the battery for ...

6V Battery Charger

It's that time of year here in Michigan, and I thought I'd share a tip for winter storage. I always use a bag with desiccant to enclose my bikes for the winter and leave the battery plugged in to a battery tender. The problem has been that I generally lose a fair amount of acid (below the fill line ...

Hi Nige,

You are right, the bike shifts fine and the clutch engagement is smooth, yet firm when needed.

Thanks for your advice.
