I know this may be sacreligious, but it appears to me that carb on these bikes are really small. The outside of the throat measures 24mm. The internal diameter on my 50cc is 28mm . . .

I'm not even sure I would do this on my current bike because so much of it is original, but I'm just wondering aloud if anyone has thought about/done/thought of why not to use a bigger carb. Bigger carb and appropriate sprockets from sprocket specialist could be really cool.

I had purchased an aftermarket carb from asia and made it work. No low end power, but fast starting and could only hit 50mph.

I bought and rebuilt an original carb. Lots of low end power, quick starting and could hit 60mph on a flat out road.

I also looked at new carbs off of new Honda's at the dealer but was amazed at the price.

Bottom line: Keep the original carb and rebuild it. From racing days gone by, you needed to more than a bigger carb to gain HP, like racing cam's, ported intake and exaust and the like. I don't think your going to get the bang for your buck if your successful mounting a bigger carb. But, if you figure a way, let us know!

The CA95 has a special carb which combined with the cam and high compression pistons give the motor 3bhp over the milder C95 (Europe Canada).
No amount of fitting bigger or more modern carbs will improve the performance.
The CA95 if set up properly should be good for over 70mph depending on rider weight and weather conditions.
