1965 Restoration Project
My son wants to learn how to ride a motorcycle so I got the little honda down out of the barn on fathers day with a completion date of Fathers day next year.
I think it will be a great project for the both of us to work on as well as my 49 indian I am working on as well. HOW DO I PUT PICS ON HERE????????? . Last edited by Chain; 06-26-2012 at 07:18 PM. |

Sounds like a good thing to do. It should be a good first bike for him.

That looks better than mine did when I bought it a little over a month ago. Just went for my first big ride on Sunday. They're really fun little bikes and they're extremely simple and easy to work on. Congrats on your cool project!

Who said a Benly looks small? The paint will buff to a really nice shine, the tank covers aren't too hard to find just beware of how they mount some have a slot and some have a tab.
Welcome aboard! |

Welcome Chain. You chose a great bike to get the young guy started. Honda motorcycles are excellent machines to teach someone troubleshooting and basic mechanics. 50cc and 70cc Honda engines were the first motorcycle engines that I actually learned inside and out when I was a kid. You guys have a very straight looking bike to build on. I'm also a fan of the Dodge in the background. Great machines.

Looks like you have a great start there. It's good that you have the slightly later bike, as it'll be easier to find stuff like knee pads for the tank.
