Carb reassemble with wrong jets? Help!
So after a good cleaning and carb dip I began to reassemble my carb an whipped out the Honda service manual to ensure I got the correct jets in place. I then noticed the jets I took out weren't the jets they recommenced to put in the stock configuration.
The following jets came out, Main Jet (95), Slow Jet (35). I also have a 100 and 140 jet (for the Power Jet and Air Power Jet, but not sure which one went where). The manual calls for Power Air 130, and Power Jet 130? I have neither. This could be why I could never get this carb. tuned properly? Any ideas? Time to buy some new jets?

I have the same manual. I only trust it about 80%. The preface page dates 1963 and most of the diagrams are pre 1964. I refer to the parts catalog for most direction. The parts catalog offers slow jet sizes 35,38 & 40 and main jets at 95, 98 & 100. It's hard to say if you have the wrong jets. The rebuild kits sometimes are not correct as well. I feel it's a crap shoot.
Aaron might send me his carb to evaluate along with an extra. It will be interesting to see which jets are installed. |

Both my carbs have weird jets installed I believe. They weren't correct according to the manual! haha

So do you guys think I should start by putting the 100 in the Power Air and the 140 in the Power Jet or vice versa?
For you guys that have good running bikes, what do you have in there?

I used some pic software to highlight a pic of the CA95 carb shown in the thread"is this the correct carb for the CA95?"
It shows a #130 on the outside "stem". My guess, for you, since you have a 140, it should go in that position. I think is makes sense to have more air and less gas. Crap shoot with an example. Hope it helps |

Yea, I tossed the 140 on the stem (Power air jet) and the 100 on the Power jet. Started first kick. Can't ride it yet to see how it's fueled though as I have to diagnose and repair a surging idle problem (new thread). I feel like I'm soooo close to riding this again daily!

I just pulled my carb off to replace the main jet, and I only see two jets. At the risk of sounding dumb, I don't see a Powerjet.
My slow jet is #35 (that's the way it came), and I'm up to a 115 main jet due to a UNI airfilter. It came with a 100. |

Yup the CA95 has a special carb with the power circuit. It's not the in the bowl, it's up at the top of the carb.
Its the two open threaded holes at the top in this pic.

I learn something new every day. On mine, the port that goes to the side is threaded and capped, but has a 130 jet in there.
I see the brass piece facing the rear, but I can't quite see the face of it. |

I quoted some jet sizes in another thread, seems like different sizes were used in the later models, This is one of the reasons I am doing some reserch on the different cams that were fitted to the Benly series of bikes. Changes in cam design can afect carburation.

Open Threaded Holes

Are both these left open - nothing screwed into the orifices??? |

Here is a pic showing that two jets are screwed into the ports

Thanks for the great picture Spokes - and GOLD no less ;-)
Can you advise the jet sizes or numbers? Appreciate all the support. |

The jet in the "tube" is marked 180
The screw on the side has no hole, but behind it is a jet deeply screwed in marked 130 Sorry about the color...I was in the middle of polishing the carb. It should of appeared chrome like.... |
