For future readers, answering my own original question from the beginning of this thread... " has anyone purchased a C95 Thai handlebar and can confirm it matches OEM specs for size/angles?"

Yes, the bars I purchased from eBay/Thailand match the original exactly.

The only issue is that the chrome ...

Adding the latest (as of 2018) to this thread.

Coker now makes the narrow whitewall https://www.cokertire.com/tires/styles/motorcycle-bike/firestone-deluxe-champion-cycle-whitewall.html

And even more interesting, the Thai's now seem to be replicating the original whitewall AND tread from "Vee ...

Honda 90 bars. Humh, that explains a lot. They came off a CA95 being parted out, but I guess they themselves were transplants from some long ago story.

Bike restoration is like archaeology. I hope whoever is wrenching my bike 50 years from now will appreciate my efforts. :)

Yes, the 67 is more comprehensive than the other one.

Has anyone ever come across the leg shield found in section F-35?

Got my seat cover from gumtwo. Seems ok, fast delivery. It'll probably be forever before I mount it on my spare seat frame.

Here's some detailed photos of the cover, strap, stitching, piping, and stencil

C95 vs CA95 Handlebars

My original C95 handlebars are bent and welded thanks to my youthful inexperience (and a patch of black ice). They're usable, but I'd like to upgrade to new(-ish).

I've got an original set from a CA95, but those bars are different. They don't have the holes for the signal lights, and the throttle ...

Received my RimFire kit as well. Well put together... very pleased.

And I now own actual JIS screwdrivers. No more buggering up the screw heads on my old bikes.

Original, M5, #12

This image makes the M5 look like the threads are not substantial, because it's so new and shiny, but they are.

These are the very first experiments, run through the cutter, and with no other cleanup.

All three have the same "feel" going in, are not loose ...

Well, that was easy. I received my M5x.90 cutter, ran my "modern" JIS M5x.80 through it, and it fit perfectly.

For fun, I ran a #12-24 through the cutter. That fit too.

So, goodbye skanky old screws. I can now make my own pre-67 JIS M5s!

My first love in high school was chemistry. Was going to go that route until I encountered computer programming, when it was more of a cult than a career.

My girlfriend went on to do her degree in chemistry and masters in ChemEng. I did love messing about in her labs, but seeing the amount of ...

Rust Removal

I know some of you are aware of this because I've seen it referenced in a few threads, but I thought I would post a thread with my experience.

Removing rust with molasses. Google it, you'll find lots of references.

Heres a nice YouTube video .

I've done this for a few years. I have a big vat ( a ...
