Copper exhaust gaskets.
The origional and after market one that look the same are crap, I've thought about going with copper crush type gaskets for some time.
I have an address for a company and will chase them up tomorrow when I have measured them. Would anyone be intrested if I can get a price for a bulk buy? Sam.:) |
Copper Gaskets
Yes I would be interested.
Thanks Steve |
Count me in, thanks :)

OK guys, I measured the gasket seating position in one of my heads and it measures 37.5mm, can any of you measure yours to see if there is any variation in Honda's machine work.
Are they all the same, or do we have to allow for variations? Sam.:) |
I'll check mine in the morning, thanks Sam
|
Thanks John, the one I measured was a CA/CB95, is yours a Canadian C95?
I have lots of heads both 125 and 150, sports and touring but I have never measured the exhaust port where the gasket sits, I'll check them all at the weekend. Sam.:) |
Yeah, mine is a CA originally from Florida..;)
|
I just measured mine Sam and your dimension is spot on..;)

Murphy's Law
The law of Murphy dictates that if I take my exhaust pipe off to measure with my skill level I will never get it sealed again, at least on this set of gaskets.
Steve:eek: |
My CA95 bore measures. Diameter (38.7) depth (3.8) and the outside diameter of the flange on the pipe measures (37.7) Engine and frame made in 1964. Be interesting to see more numbers.

How about these? Not cheap but could work. 37MM OD.

Just to be clear are we talking about part #18291-202-000 (ref# 4 in the attached diagram)?

I've just measured 7 heads and they are all over the place in respect of sizes.
Smallest were 37.5 going up to 38.14mm. I guess 37.5 will do the job and yes it is #4 in the diagram. Thing is I phoned the guy and left a message on his answer phone but have not been called back yet. Sam.:) |
Has anyone tried these yet? I'm thinking about ordering a pair.

I've not heard from the guy I phoned, perhaps he is on holiday.
