my first ca95 !!!
 

Hi,
New to ca95's and this forum.
I just got my first ca160 about a week ago!! It runs but needs to be restored.... I will post some pics as I start the process of getting her street ready (safe)...
Ordered new tires, tubes, brakes, cables etc...
I am sure i will need more parts as this project goes along so if anyone has any web sites for parts (mufflers) besides the usual eBay, please let me know it would be greatly appreciated!

started on the handle bars, cables were cut, rewired and cleaned up the aluminum...

Welcome aboard, there's a post Spokes made a little further down on parts sourcing, the pipe pictured doesn't look in too bad of shape...they are super hard to source as far as originals go. Flat black doesn't really fit these I don't know what the PO was thinking, these bikes are designed to shine. ;)

As Jet says , WELCOME ABOARD !! Looks like you have a nice bike to start with . My advice , look over the wiring and electrical system very closely . If your lucky everything will be in order but most have been modified ,worn thru ( check the cable lead from the starter to the solenoid ) ,from vibration ,etc.
It's cheaper to spend an hour or so making sure everything is sound than to find out after you've burned out the wiring and fried the alternator.
Then make sure it's SAFE to ride .

Welcome! That's a neat early bike. You ought to track down the original style tank trim at some point. They are a ton of fun to ride (I just rode mine to work today and went for a little ride afterwards with my brother to show it to the PO), they are great on gas and they are exceptionally cool looking bikes. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I'm enjoying mine.

Thanks Everyone!!! Yes I am going to start looking at the harnes first... I am thinking of just ordering a new one since they are somewhat cheap. I already rewired the handle bars which were a mess... The wiring seems to be all there in the rest of the bike but we will see.
I was going to "only" do a few things to start so that I can get it road ready but it seems the more i do or check the more I find ;)

Actually you have a CA160....not a CA95

The CA160 is the same frame but has a more robust engine. So when your buying a wire harness and engine parts, make sure it's for a CA160. I actually like the CA160 best IMO

Yep, CA160 for sure, and the Honda winged tank badges are flying in reverse, so they need to be swapped to the opposite sides of the tank.

Right...interesting, I just checked the title and you guys are right... hmm... good to know thanks, by the way what kind of wires do I need to get for my spark plugs? I need to get a new set of spark plug wires asap.

Also I ordered a carb rebuild kit for a ca95..Do you guys know if it will fit the ca160?

break/clutch handles cleaned up really nice.kinda hard to see but the one on the left is polished....

You should be able to buy plug wire at any parts store . They should have 7mm solid wire on a roll , you'll need about 3 ft. On the coil side you'll see the leads go into the coil , you'll have to remove the clamp and pull the wires out . The new wire just pushes . I use a small amount of Automotive RTV to seal out the moisture and then reinstall the clamp . Reuse your spark plug terminals in the same manner . If yours are cracked or broken most any motorcycle shop will have new NGK terminals in stock .
You don't want resistor type SP wire or the resistor NGK spark plug terminals .

Great thanks! Do you know by any chance if I can use the ca95 carb rebuild kit for my ca160 carb? I also ordered a set of cables for a ca95 :( (clutch etc.) they should fit I assume??
