Hey guys. Finally got my bike mostly back together, but it just won't start. Battery is good, reading 6.5 V
Getting what looks like good spark in both plugs.
Adjusted the points gap.

Finally today I checked the compression and got around 60 PSI on both cylinders. I sprayed some oil down the cylinders and it climbed up to about 90.

Will it ever start with such poor compression? Before I spend more money on rings and honing I'd like to rule out other problems that could be keeping it from running.

Since you sprayed oil and got a pressure increase its likely you need new pistons, rings and boring. It could also be your ring gaps are lined up and/or installed upside down.

It is unlikely to get the bike to start with 60-90psi.

Try some motor oil in the cylinder about 1/2 oz. Heavy oil will raise the compression better than spray type. But it's only temporary .

Thanks Spokes.

Do you think I could get away with just getting it bored out and putting larger rings on? I hate to spend any more money on it because I have to sell it anyway.

Anyway, I'm pretty happy with how it's turning out so far.

Well, nothing decreases the value of one's work than a poor running bike.
I recommend buying oversize pistons and rings. I use these guys for my engines http://www.jmcycle.net/Pages/CYLINDERBORING.aspx

They know the CA95 jugs from working with me.

They will bore the engine to tight spec's. The bike will start in an instant and run nice.

You can try to install oversize rings, it may work but it's a gamble.

Your call.
