Keeping a truck all one brand is a no-brainer. But if you have an offroad racing style truck this is extremely difficult. If you need more horsepower it's really simple to go get a 350ci Chevy engine or a LS series V8 to throw in. For one you can get parts and hop-up accessories all over the place without a problem. My friend Nick down south opted to keep his race truck all Toyota/Lexus for the same reason I did myself: besides these Lexus V8 engines being super smooth and fuel efficient, the Lexus 1UZ engines can be found all over the place for cheap. Besides a little head scratching when it comes to adapting the engine to the transmission you want to use the only hard part is wiring the Lexus computer to run in whatever vehicle you are using. That's where I come in.

Last week I zipped down to LA with some of my electronic gear to wire up a 1UZ-FE Lexus V8 into Nick's Toyota offroad truck. It took me a couple days but I was able to make the SC400 wire loom and ECU to work just fine. I'll start off with a couple pictures of the truck itself for now.

Well here is an update. Check out the truck being tested out in the dirt. Judging by the huge shit-eatin grin I would say that it runs good enough to take out and race. Sounds good. It's not running PERFECTly but it's a great start and it looks like it's flying around fine to me. :D
